No matter how strong we are, we all need a little support sometimes. For you, though, Cancer, it’s often much easier to give support than it is to receive it. But this year, it might be time to flip the script.
With the moon’s south node in Sagittarius, you can easily burn yourself out by saying “yes” too often. Whether the activities are work-related or service-oriented, you eagerly jump right in. But when that initial enthusiasm fades, they become just one more thing you have to do.
The north node in Gemini encourages you to practice saying “no” sometimes, and take the downtime you need to recharge. Cutting out excess obligations also frees up time to dabble in some new interests, especially around the eclipses in Sagittarius (lunar May 26, solar December 3) and Gemini (solar, June 10).
Of course, some responsibilities will remain on your plate this year. And with wild-card Uranus in Taurus, some new ones can unexpectedly land on it. But as Jupiter in Aquarius clashes with Uranus (January 17), you’re challenged to see these as opportunities, not just inconveniences. If only because they motivate you to finally call in some favors and seek out support.
After all, with Saturn in Aquarius forming three squares with Uranus this year (February 17, June 14, and December 23), you’re going to need a little help from your friends! Whatever setbacks, delays, or obstacles come up in your path, they’re there to remind you that you can only do so much on your own. Support systems are available to you, so don’t be afraid to fall back on them.
For you, Cancer, this means family first and foremost. And from mid-August through early November, as the inner planets move through Libra, you’ll be reaching out to whoever feels most like home to you.
With Mercury spending extra time in Libra (August 29-November 5), you’ll want to linger over light and lovely conversation topics. But his three squares with Pluto in Capricorn warn against avoiding thornier issues. This year, trust your family members to be more than just fair-weather friends.
The honeymoon is over, Cancer. Whether or not you’re in a committed relationship, this year, your love life is about to get real!
With Jupiter and Saturn together in Aquarius (your house of intimacy, sexuality, and shared resources) for most of 2021, you’re realizing that every rose indeed has its thorn. And as much as love can enrich and enhance your life, it can limit your options too.
Planning for the future is challenging enough when you’re a free agent. But throw another person into the mix, with their own set of desires and goals, and it gets even more complicated! And as Jupiter and Saturn form squares with Uranus in Taurus (Jupiter on January 17; Saturn on February 17, June 14, and December 23), even your best-laid plans are subject to change.
If you’re single, this could present as an unexpected attraction that rocks your world and turns your whole life upside-down, challenging your assumptions about sex and love. You may end up surprising yourself by letting some of your former “dealbreakers” go. This is especially likely from May 13-July 28, as Jupiter tests the waters in Pisces and you feel an urge to escape.
With Venus in your sign (June 2-26) harmonizing with Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces, the universe seems to be giving you its blessing. Allow yourself the luxury of a romantic getaway. Escape from everyday life for a while, and maybe live out a few favorite fantasies!
Just remember that eventually, you’ll have to come back down to earth. True, your partner may be “perfect” for you. But as Venus sits opposite to Pluto in Capricorn, there’s no ignoring the fact that they’re also a flesh-and-blood person with their own human flaws. You’ve got yours, too, Cancer—and relationships have a way of bringing them into focus.
By the time Venus visits Scorpio (September 10-October 7), you’ll be saying, “bring it on!” Still, her challenging aspects with Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus can bring on a case of cold feet whenever it seems like you’re getting too close. It’s up to you how intense you want to get, and how deep you want to go.
Whatever it says on your business card, Cancer, your unofficial title should be “Healer-in-Chief.” With Chiron in Aries, work often feels less like a career and more like a ministry.
Patients, students, customers, coworkers, employees, even bosses: This year, they’re all just people who need your help. Whatever challenges they’re facing, your support and encouragement can make all the difference—because they know you’ve faced them yourself.
As Saturn in Aquarius forms sextiles with Chiron (February 9, June 23, and November 26), you’re asked to step up as a mentor to others in your field. This bolsters your self-confidence, but it can also take time and energy away from your own career goals. Make sure you’re connecting with mentors of your own, who can help you get to the next level.
After all, Cancer, no matter how accomplished you are, there’s always more to learn. And with two eclipses in Sagittarius (lunar May 26, solar December 3), this year it’s “out with the old, in with the new.” If you’re using outdated techniques and technologies on the job, it’s time to bring yourself up to speed! Take advantage of professional development opportunities to maintain a state-of-the-art skillset. This also puts you in a better position to find a new-and-improved job in 2021.
Planning for the future can be challenging for all of us this year, especially with Uranus in Taurus challenged by Jupiter (January 17) and Saturn (February 17, June 14, and December 23). But you’re most likely to feel it between early July and early August, as the inner planets transiting Leo (your money house) form their own squares with Uranus.
You rightfully take pride in your money-management skills. But in an unpredictable economy, unexpected challenges can arise through no fault of your own. If they do, don’t be too proud to ask a financial pro for advice!
